Photos from this gallery represent populations of Papilio indra near martini from the Newberry Mountains near Christmas Tree Pass, Clark County, Nevada. Larvae were found on Lomatium parryi and reared on Cymopterus terebinthinus calcereus 29 Apr 2005.

Pinkish fifth instar larva is similar to Papilio indra calcicola and Papilio indra minori; but the orange dots on the larval segments is reduced.

The darkening of the region of the pupa where the eyes are forming is one of the first visible queues that an indra swallowtail has broken diapause. This can be fairly obvious when holding a pupa up towards a light source.
