Females of some species of the Anthocharis sara complex prefer to oviposit on the flower stems of host Arabis and other mustards.

Great photo from Dennis Walker demonstrating where Anthocharis sara complex females prefer to lay their eggs; which usually is on the flower stem. There are sometimes exceptions, however. In Dennis' photo, if you look down the stalk in this photo, there is another whitish A. sara ovum on Arabis perennans.
