Immatures were located 20 Sep 2008 on Quercus turbinella at Welcome Spring; Beaver Dam Mts. 3.2 miles NNW Castle Cliff 4400’ UT: Washington County. Females only oviposit on ultra-fresh new growth in the fall; which can be very difficult to find; which means when you DO find new growth, you will likely find immatures if the timing is right.
These larvae were found as late instars. For best results, I would look the third week of August when there are ova on new growth of the host plant. -
