Eriogonum racemosum
Redroot buckwheat is the larval host plant of the gray hairstreak (Strymon melinus franki), spalding blue (Euphilotes spaldingi), spring azure (Celastrina echo echo), and sheridan's green hairstreak (Callophrys sheridani neoperplexa). The first three lycaenids use flowers and use this host in the late summer whereas the sheridan's green hairstreak fly in the spring and use leaves.
