Last instar caterpillars of many differing subspecies of the Euphydryas anicia complex differ from each other.  This photograph shows a sixth instar caterpillar of Euphydryas anicia wecoeut from the Uinta Basin, Uintah County, Utah (Left) contrasted with a sixth instar caterpillar of Euphydryas anicia wheeleri from Willow Creek; east of Mona, Juab County, Utah (Right.)
